Decide what success needs to include.
A business can grow while the room for everything else gets smaller. Time, health, relationships, and the freedom to explore are not separate from the reason many people start. They belong in the definition of success.
Notice what depends on you.
Look at a normal week. Which decisions truly need your experience? Which interruptions happen because the process is unclear? Which tasks could someone else own with the right context? The point is not to disappear from meaningful work. It is to choose where your attention creates value.
Build boundaries into the work.
A documented process, a clear decision rule, and a capable person can protect time more effectively than good intentions alone. Start with one recurring source of unnecessary dependence. Improve it, review it, and make the improvement part of how the company operates.
Keep the purpose visible.
For me, business should make room for family, health, learning, connection, and a life beyond work. Your picture may look different. Define it in your own terms, then use it to evaluate what you build next.
